Die Katze ist aus dem Sack:
"Bundesregierung gibt zu: Online-Durchsuchungen laufen schon" Quelle: Heise- Artikel Ich bin Sprachlos, ehrlich gesagt. For english readers, in short: German Government has revealed today that Online- Searching of private Computers (So, basically hacking them) has been actively used since 2005. As they are currently trying to get a legal legitimation to do so, they have been doing so illegaly for the last two years. Can't find the words to comment this right now, probably later.
A couple of people probably know that I've been working as a Data Management Specialist for a big German Internet company during the last couple of years. Due to some internal restructuring I had to decide where I want to go in the future. Well, as of 04/01 I'm officially employed as a Database Administrator (Sybase). The first few days have been very interesting, and I had the opportunity to learn quite some new "internal" stuff, especially about replication systems.
That should also explain why I haven't started out on posting all that consolidation stuff I've written together. Didn't have the time to type them. Anyone want to take the job? It's all on paper. I've also been dabbling with PostgreSQL replication. (The "built in" Warm Standby solution). It's not quite what I'm looking for, but I've written together some nice scripts for checking stuff. Just have to find a way to make a gut Tutorial about it. It's currently... a bit... clumsy, which is putting it in kind words. One good thing ist that we're also using a couple of PostgreSQLs in the company, so I can put my "hobby" to use at work. Now, I usually don't write about "personal" stuff on my blog, but since my work life is merging with the other stuff I'm doing, I found it to be easier to post entries like this for easier understanding. Yes, I'll out myself (What's better than opening a new category about personal stuff with THIS:)
And yes, I did listen to it. Found on Blackmike.net |
